A military brat, Deb grew up traveling the United States and England with her family. Her daddy, Ronald Young, joined the Air Force and was stationed in England where he met Margaret Jenkinson, Deb's mum. "My mum is a very artistic and creative person--I am lucky she has passed those talents on to me along with her encouragement and love." "I have to give my Dad credit for shaping my entrepreneurial spirit and my love of travel. Because I moved so often, it is easy for me get along with all types of people, face new situations, make new friends". |
| Although Deb wanted to be a flight attendant while growing up, she met a photographer and soon became involved in studio and location portraiture. That was way back in 1979! For 12 years, she co-owned a studio in Zelienople, Pennsylvania before moving to North Carolina in 1991. "I was so excited to start over in Charlotte, a vibrant and growing city full of energy and opportunity". "My sister, Allyson, welcomed me to her Fourth Ward home in Uptown Charlotte where I began my new studio." Settling in Lake Norman, Deborah finally feels at home. Involved with the YMCA, she donates her time and energy to community outreach programs. You may see her in Davidson catching some local stock images, or sailing in a regatta. She and her husband Rick enjoy lake living in Denver with their two dogs, Tipper and Hillary. | |
